Dishes of Motoyu-Ishiya had been kept in this solidly built storehouse for 180 years.
Now it offers a peaceful space to you.
In 1830, the 1st year of Tempo period, this storehouse was constructed.
The traditional storehouse of white plaster walls was remodeled to a Western-style guestroom of a maisonette.
Please spend a nostalgic time in the room with a retro quality furnishing, such as a table imported from Europe or handwoven gabbeh by Iran.

Kujaku-no-ma
This room is a villa of a wealthy merchant To’emon Kiya in Edo period that was moved to this location and reassembled. The room is decorated by elaborate ornaments such as ranma-panels carved “Shikunshi” and cloisonné handles of sliding doors. Make yourself relax indulging in refined elegance of Edo period.
Tori-no-ma
Tori-no-ma shows skillfulness and spirit of artisans of Meiji period on furnishings such as an alcove made of one single plank of pine timber or carved wooden panels of cock pattern above sliding doors.
Ume-no-ma
This room is located on the first floor of Kujaku-no-ma, and also a villa of a wealthy merchant To’emon Kiya in Edo period that was moved to this location and reassembled. Preserving the traditional townhouse style in Kanazawa, it was renovated to the modern room. As it is a corner room, you can have the view of the garden changing season to season all to yourself. Enjoy a private time to your heart’s content.
Yuri-no-ma
It is a suite of large two rooms renovated in March of 2015. Beds are furnished in the bedroom.

Kari-no-ma
There are 3 consecutive Japanese-style rooms, 2 rooms with 6 tatami mats and 1 8 tatami room with twin beds, and you can enjoy the view from the wide veranda in all rooms.
The view is exceptional, and the garden built on the slope of the mountain village has a small waterfall, a pond, and a torii gate leading to Yakushi-do Hall, where the guardian deity of Fukaya Onsen is enshrined, creating a comfortable and quiet space.
Renovated in February 2024, this Japanese-style room has a more modern feel than other rooms.

They are traditional rooms with nostalgic atmosphere. You can see a moss-covered garden and mountains from the veranda. Enjoy a beautiful scenery changing season to season woven by the light and shade reflecting to villages among mountains.
Each of Umebachi rooms has a different character, for example a room with the veranda viewing moss-covered garden.
Air-conditioning equipment or door fittings are not modern, but you can feel rural nostalgia instead.
